Rhodes Ports

Rhodes Island features multiple ports that serve both commercial and leisure purposes. The three main ones are located in Rhodes Town, while two others are found in the south and west of the island.

⚓ Main Ports of Rhodes

1. Commercial Port (Main Port of Rhodes)
   • Located at the northeastern tip of Rhodes Town.
   • It handles international ferry connections, large cruise ships, and cargo.
   • A short walk (5 minutes) from the Medieval Old Town.
2. Mandraki Port
   • The historic harbor in the heart of Rhodes Town.
   • Famous for the ancient Colossus of Rhodes, once believed to have stood at the entrance.
   • Today, it serves as a marina and point of departure for daily boat trips to Symi, Lindos, and along the east coast.
3. Akandia Port
   • Located south of the main commercial port.
   • A newer facility used for domestic ferry routes, cargo, and sometimes large cruise liners.
   • Features a passenger terminal with café and waiting areas.
4. Kolona Port
   • Opposite the main port, adjacent to the Old Town.
   • Caters to inter-island ferries and small yachts.
   • Very convenient for travelers staying in central Rhodes.
5. Kamiros Skala Port
   • On the western coast, near the ancient ruins of Kamiros.
   • Small port serving ferries to nearby Chalki Island.
6. Lardos Port
   • Located on the southeastern coast.
   • Undergoing development to serve as an alternative port during rough weather.

🚢 Ferry Connections

Rhodes is well connected by sea with various destinations:

• From Piraeus (Athens): Daily ferries, approximately 15–17 hours.
• To Symi Island: Several daily ferries, around 1 hour.
• To Marmaris (Turkey): High-speed ferries daily in summer, about 1 hour.
• To Kos, Karpathos, Kastellorizo, and Crete: Regular weekly schedules.
